(1968), the film that changed my life and helped define Russ Meyer’s legacy. Vixen! was bold, shocking, and way ahead of its time—tackling taboo subjects like nymphomania, racism, communism, and even draft dodging. Of course, it also landed in hot water with censors, earning one of the first-ever X ratings and facing multiple obscenity prosecutions. But despite all that, it became a massive box office hit and one of the most successful independent films of its era. Russ was a true maverick, and Vixen! remains the perfect example of his fearless, no-holds-barred style of filmmaking.
