After hours of chaos, endless gobbles, and an alarming number of turkeys wearing their rebellion like feathers in a crown, I finally found peace. The key wasn’t the blunderbuss or my Pilgrim resolve—it was a humble box of Mrs. Cubbison’s Stuffing. In a moment of inspiration (or sheer desperation), I opened the box, its savory aroma wafting through the barnyard set like a truce flag. The turkeys paused mid-revolt, their beady eyes wide with intrigue. Slowly, they edged closer, cautiously pecking at the breadcrumbs of peace. In minutes, the battle transformed into a feast—a surreal tableau of Hollywood harmony as I stood among my once-feathered foes, offering stuffing to all. This Thanksgiving, may your table be as full as my heart was that day (though hopefully with fewer turkeys giving side-eye). Thank you for joining me on this wild adventure. One dramatic event that brought home to Erica how One dramatic event that brought home to Erica how Vixen was perceived in certain quarters was her appearance (along with Meyer) opposite feminist Betty Friedan on the local ABC talk show Chicago in early 1969. “I was totally traumatized because she came out and started telling me I was disgrace to women. That took me by surprise. I’d never thought once about that before, but after that show, and after seeing the marchers protesting Vixen, part of me felt that maybe I should be standing up for women. Part of it was because I felt like I never fit in, and wanting to so badly. The women’s movement was so big at that time—women were burning bras, and here I was taking mine off! Okay… part two about the wildest Thanksgiving sh Okay… part two about the wildest Thanksgiving shoot of my career… there I was, dressed as a Pilgrim, wielding a blunderbuss bigger than my co-star’s ego. The concept? Me ‘hunting’ turkeys for Mrs. Cubbison’s Dressing. The reality? Chasing a flock of very confused birds across the set while keeping my powder dry.
